Our Shrota Mandals : The Power of Collective Listening

Listener Visit

At Rudi No Radio, we believe in the power of community engagement and the meaningful connection it brings. As part of our listeners' engagement initiative, we form small groups called "Shrota Mandals." These Mandals consist of dedicated individuals who come together to collectively listen to our radio programs.

To ensure that our radio programs resonate with the lives and experiences of our listeners, we conduct regular visits to their villages. We genuinely listen to their feedback, gather their thoughts, and understand how Rudi's radio program impacts their daily lives. To establish a dedicated audience, we create a questionnaire and personally visit villages or send out the questionnaires to collect audience information. From the responses, we carefully select 15 to 20 individuals who form a target group comprising children, siblings, elders, and others.

Shrota Mandal

When our radio program airs, the Shrota Mandals gather at a common place, to listen to the broadcast together. This collective listening experience sparks engaging conversations about Rudi's radio program within the village. We greatly value the feedback and insights shared by our Shrota Mandals. Many of them express their thoughts and opinions through letters, where they mention the name of their Mandal. This helps us identify the specific Mandal and the person speaking. Through these letters and phone calls, our network of Shrota Mandals communicates promptly and keeps the community connected.

Engaging with Our Listeners: A Dialogue of Postcards

Postcard

At Rudi No Radio, we believe in fostering a strong connection with our listeners. After the broadcast of our programs, we eagerly await the response from our audience, which comes in the form of heartfelt letters and phone calls. These messages are a treasure trove of valuable insights, personal stories, and useful information relevant to the topics we cover.

Our dedicated team records the phone calls, carefully capturing any significant details that can enhance our future programs. Alongside program-related responses, the letters we receive are filled with festival wishes, radio birthday greetings, updates on government schemes, and special requests.

When the postcards and letters arrive at our station, we gather as a team to discuss and analyze each communication. It is through this collective reflection that we gain a deeper understanding of our listeners' perspectives and concerns. In response, we make it a point to personally reply to each letter, extending our warm wishes for occasions like Diwali, New Year, and Christmas.

Over the past 17 years, we have received an overwhelming response, with more than 5000 letters pouring in from various districts.
